The Honorable Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed at the press conference in Abuja on Thursday 11th February 2021 made it clear that the constitutional rights of Nigerians is Right to Peaceful protests not Violent Protests.
In view of the EndSars protest, some proponents have given a notice of returning to Lekki Toll Gate, Lagos on the 13th of February with the “Occupy Lekki Toll Gate” while threatening that “Lagos will burn” again.
With this, the minister of information and culture said the federal government would not allow a violent protest happen again as there are chances that this protest will be hijacked.
With this, he said the Judicial Panel of Inquiry set up to investigate complaints of police brutality and also delivering justice for all victims of the dissolved SARD will continue with the assignment.
