It is not a new thing in Nigeria that arbitrary assault, arrest and detention will be portioned to any (LGBT) Lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender people in Nigeria.

Under the Criminal Code of Nigeria in 1990, it provides severe penalties which include 10 – 14 years imprisonment for “aggravated” homosexual same sex practice.

Also, the Nigeria law provide penalty of up to 14 years in jail for a gay marriage or any member of LGBTQ caught in the act or for membership encouragement of gay clubs and Bisexual society or organisation.

Meanwhile, the community and police have said anyone with information on her whereabouts should report to the nearest police station.
