Community attacks alleged bisexual man

A man, Olalekan Kareem Lateef, has been disowned by his community located in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital over his romantic relationship with his gay partner.

Olalekan, a graduate of Tai Solarin University of Education, TASUED was also rejected by his immediate family over his relationship with his partner, simply identified as Taofeek.

The father of one, according to investigation, was caught while having a nice time with his partner at his matrimonial home by his sister-in-law who raised the alarm.

It was learnt that the partner escaped after the incident.

Olalekan in his statement from hideout said, “I was a student of Tai Solarin university of education. I met Taofeek through my best friend Seyi, when I was  in 200 hundred level  during one of our many visits to the nightclub.

“Taofeek and I got so close with time because he usually gives me gifts in cash and in kind with no specific reasons

“My friend Seyi that facilitated my knowing Taofeek was not happy with my closeness with Seyi and always warned me of him.

He narrated further, “I had a girlfriend who was always not available due to her studies in another university but always comes around once a while during her holidays. One day, after we resumed from holiday I had to visit Taofeek whose invitation I couldn’t honour because I was with my girlfriend Modupe Rasheedat.”

According to him, “Upon setting my eyes on Taofeek, as if I  haven’t seen him before, I fell in love with Taofeek’s posture and physique that I couldn’t resist his overtures for sex.

“I started avoiding Seyi, after my sex escapades with Taofeek because I had already fallen in love with Taofeek because I enjoyed the erotic moments we had together.”

According to him, “During that period too, and because of my girlfriend’s unavailability, I got engaged with a classmate of mine who got pregnant for me after just one night together.

“Efforts to get rid of the baby proved abortive as my girlfriend Modupe Rasheedat must not know and she eventually delivered the baby who I named Selim.

“My long time girlfriend Modupe Rasheedat and her family  got so annoyed upon hearing of my baby but it took the efforts of my parents to resolve the matter and we eventually got married in May 2022.”

He said, “After we got married, Taofeek found his way to my apartment where I lived with my wife, daughter and my sister-in-law Seun and Taofeek presumably to present me a wedding gift.

“During Taofeek’s visit, and upon seeing him, the memory of our erotic adventures seemed to return and we both threw caution to the wind and started having sex in my sitting room because no one was at home.

“My sister-in-law, Seun, who was just returning from the market caught us in the act and made the affair public by  shouting and running to the neighbourhood.

“Although Taofeek managed to escape by the whiskers, I  was caught and beaten to pulp by angry youths in the community who later handed me over to the local police.

“I was bailed by my wife with a huge sum of money, and was advised to seek refuge in another state because my community association had taken the case to the police and later to court for trial and a massive bounty had been placed on me,” he narrated.

He, however, said, “That I have been planning for a way out of the country along with my family as both the police authority and the community association are allegedly on my trail.”
