Common goal, unity of purpose, key to development of Odo Lagaiye Ijebu — Baale, Chief Fakayode

The traditional ruler, Baale of Odo Lagaiye Ijebu, High Chief Fakayode Adetola, has said that unity of purpose and common goal is paramount to the development of the town.

Chief Fakayode, who made the appeal in his palace while addressing journalists on the briefings of a proposed townhall meeting scheduled to hold on Saturday in his palace, called on all ‘sons and daughters’ of the town to rally round support and contribute meaningfully to the development, growth and progress of the town without delay.

According to him, the town hall meeting is aimed at discussing various developmental issues that would liberate the town from present and future challenges.

He submitted that for a town to experience speedy growth and development, the indigenes and residents of such town must have been in one accord with common goal, hence the need to call everyone to a townhall meeting scheduled for the weekend to address many issues concerning the progress of the town.

“When it comes to development, nobody should be underrated, because God has deposited one or two things in every individual. It is only when we engage ourselves in sensible, meaningful and robust interaction that facts and vital developmental points capable of catapulting our town to a greater one comparable to all advanced and developed towns all over the world can be can be unraveled.

“I therefore beseech all sons and daughters of Odo Lagaiye Ijebu, to come out en masse and attend the crucial and very important meeting on Saturday,” Chief Fakayode said.

The traditional ruler who urged the residents of the town to always put the town in prayer posited that, “all that is good needs prayer; just like we want everything to be in good shape, we should not renege in prayer.”

Submitting same for the Country at large, he added that, “for our great country to occupy its rightful position in the comity of nations, all Nigerians must also pray.”

Imploring indigenes of Odo Lagaiye Ijebu not to rest on their oars until the dream of the town is achieved, Chief Fakayode said the intending Saturday meeting would not be a run off but the heralding of a beginning of new development in the town.

He, therefore called on all residents to take advantage of the town hall platform to contribute meaningfully towards the development of the town.
