Hello fashion able! It’s another glamorous week and in this week’s article we are going to be looking into tips and preservatory methods to keep every of your fashion outfit looking as new and as presentable as the first time you acquired it. First thing to take into consideration is that buying quality fashion items or clothing, is VERY important. You can not buy low quality items and expect that following these preservatory tips is going to have them looking brand new.
Take note: Quality clothes do not have to be expensive and should not be largely be determined by how expensive a clothing item is: it should rather be determined by the texture of fabric and type of sew used in the creation of the garment (which is a topic for another article).
On to the purpose of this article, here are top preservatory tips for majority of your clothing items, be it for formal or informal purpose.
T-shirts: This go to leisure and largely becoming a formal work attire for individuals in the technology and journalism sphere, is one important clothing item that allows for diversity in styling. One thing tons of people who wear Tees do not know however, is that to best enjoy your Tees, you should avoid too much washing of Tees, Iron less or totally avoid ironing your Tees, do not store by folding or squeezing your Tees, after washing, avoid leaving to dry under the direct sun (leave to dry in a shade) and as a bonus tip, quality T-shirts are usually found in the following brands; Gildan; soft and hard style, Triblend and fruit of the loom.
Formal trouser:This ranges for all genders and its make varies with the designer’s choice of fabric. Based on this, the first advice to be have your newly or formerly acquired Trouser looking new and in good shape is to read the care labels that are sewn to the back of the waist. Soft Press your trousers, turn inside out when washing, wash with cold water only, turn trouser inside out when you want to iron; fold leg of trouser into two parts when ironing is needed, also place one pant leg directly on top the other when ironing and avoid washing your trouser with detergent as poorly made detergents can cause clothing materials to fade and weakens the texture/quality of the material.
Skirts: This clothing item also vary in different materials so the first logical advice would be to read the care label that comes with it. If you store your clothes in a wardrobe, I advise that you clip your skirts on hangers, turned inside out, avoid washing with detergent, iron according to its style, if you dry clean your clothes, do not leave garments in the dry-cleaning bags and if you store your clothes by folding, make sure to fold properly and keep in accordance to colour and similitude in fabric.
Chiffon Shirts: Although largely accustomed by women, male chiffon shirts are slowly riding up the trend and for this reason, this tip is good for all genders and can also be applied to your typical everyday formal packet shirts: When ironing, do not iron under excessive heat, do not wash with detergent or warm water, store by hanging; storing by folding can cause excessive rumpling that can eventually lead to tear and wearing-out of fabric.
Ankara attires, dresses, bubu and agbaya: Popularly worn for leisure and cultural inclined events, this clothing item also varies from Ankara made to tie and dye, lace and so on. The best way to preserve this is to avoid too much washing; its better to sun dry after wearing once, wash with cold water/mild wash and bar or liquid soap and the best way to store this is preferably by hanging with matching hangers by the shoulders or by folding neatly.
You’re welcome.
