Climate change has triggered need for transformation — TotalEnergies
Total Nigeria plc, has officially changed its logo and name to TotalEnergies Marketing Nig. Plc. These were recently officially launched at Total service Station, Abule Onigbagbo, Ikeja,Lagos. This giant step would deepen the company’s footprint in the Nigeria’s downstream oil subsector as the only international oil company in Nigeria. The Executive General Manager/company secretary TotalEnergies marketing Nig. Plc, Mrs Bunmi Popoola Mordi explained that the challenges of climate change has triggered the need for the transformation of energy system in order to meet up with climate change, as resolved at the meeting held in Paris on 2016.
Based on climate change, TotalEnergies, has been mapping out strategies and tactics and making a lot of significant efforts to utilize energies.
She later explained the meaning of the colours in the logo .She said the logo represent a non-stopping but slow transformation from petrol to solar power.
The red colour symbolizes petrol, followed by the blue colour which symbolizes gas, the sky blue colour symbolizes electricity followed by hydrogen, biomass, wind and the last orange colour symbolizes solar energy.
All these energies may not be in use in Nigeria now, but some of them are already working in other countries, she explained.
The launching was attended by GM, Retails, Abdullahi Umar, GM, HSEQ, Muhyideen Nurudeen; GM, Human Resources, Adesua Adewole; GM, Operations, Rabiu AbdulMutalib.
Other top managment staff at the event included the MD, Imrane Barry; GM, Lubricants, Bolaji Fajimi; GM, Commercial, Weruche Neagbara; GM, SG, Lesley Baxter; and EGM, Popoola Mordi; Special Adviser, Charles Atiomo.
Earlier, the company held an Extraordinary General Meeting in Lagos where shareholders approved the resolution for the change of name and logo with unanimous votes.
