CIBN rewards keke rider, 3 others over show of integrity

The Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN), during its 58th Annual Bankers Dinner and the grand finale of its 60th Anniversary, handed out awards to a Keke rider and 3 others who had showed varying degrees of integrity in the past.
The event which took place at the prestigious Eko Hotels on the 24th of November 2023, saw 4 individuals rewarded for their integrity and honesty amongst others.
The first recipient of the award is a keke driver in Kano Auwalu Salisu Alkasim who had returned a sum of N15M.
The second, Miss Kekwaaru Ngozi Mary a staff of Eko hotels and suites who have found and returned $70,000 belonging to a customer.
Third was a staff of Zenith Bank, Mr. Chukwuekwu Osafiele who had prevented a cyberattack attack on the bank. Fourth, Mrs. Ogor Esther Oboh, a customer of Zenith Bank who had received a wrong payment of N245M and contacted the bank. The award was presented by the president of the council, Dr. Ken Opara and supported by the chairman, body of past presidents, Mr. Ralph Osayameh.
The MD/CEO of Fcmb Mrs. Yemisi Edun promised a sum of N1M to the awardees. Zenith bank also promised some financial rewards.
Other awards handed out at the dinner event were the legendary awards, given to Past Presidents of the Institute for their outstanding contributions towards nurturing, growing, and developing the CIBN; the sectoral stellar award, an award for the most digitally innovative Deposit Money Bank in Nigeria which was won by Wema Bank; the X factor award, an award for a leading female banker breaking the glass ceiling and inspiring a more gender inclusive industry which was won by Tosin Leye-Odeyemi of Stanbic-IBTC Bank and the Next generation cqlass of 2023 Award which had over 14 nominees who met the criteria.
