CIBN president unveils bankers hall at Kwara State University

Amidst an air of pomp and excitement, Dr. Ken Opara, FCIB, President and Chairman of Council of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN), graced the walls of Kwara State University in Malete, Kwara State, to inaugurate the newly built and magnificent CIBN Bankers Hall. A legacy project endowed by the Institute to the University.

Joining Dr. Opara at the event were esteemed dignitaries including the Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Kwara State, Dr. Mary Arinde; the Emir of the Ilorin Emirate, His Royal Highness, Alhaji Dr. Ibrahim Kolapo Sulu Gambari, CFR; the Acting Vice Chancellor, Kwara State University, Prof. Shaykh Luqman Jimoh;1st Vice President of the CIBN, Prof. Pius Deji Olanrewaju, Ph.D., FCIB; and the Registrar/Chief Executive of the CIBN, Akin Morakinyo, HCIB, among other notable guests.

The CIBN Bankers Hall, a Legacy Project endowed to Kwara State University, is a symbol of CIBN’s dedication to education, excellence, and the banking profession. This state-of-the-art facility, born from years of meticulous planning, design, and construction, is equipped with modern amenities aimed at meeting the dynamic needs of banking education. Its role as a hub for academic discourse, innovation, and industry engagement underscores its significance in shaping the future of banking education in Nigeria.

In his address, President Opara emphasized the importance of collaboration between academia and the banking industry, reiterating CIBN’s commitment to nurturing a culture of excellence and professionalism within the banking sector.

The commissioning of the CIBN Bankers Hall represents a milestone achievement and a renewed commitment to advancing banking education and promoting sustainable development in Nigeria. CIBN extends its warm gratitude to all stakeholders, partners, and well-wishers who contributed to the success of this project and invites them to join in celebrating this historic occasion.

In his response, the Acting Vice Chancellor, Kwara State UniversityProf. Shaykh Luqman Jimoh appreciated the Institute immensely for the gesture and promised to keep the hall in good shape.
