Christmas: We remain unwavering to your security, economic growth — Shettima assures Nigerians

In his Christmas message, Vice President Kashim Shettima has reassured Nigerians of the federal government’s steadfast commitment to national security, economic transformation, and the overall welfare of the citizenry.
The Vice President, in a message signed by him on Wednesday, expressed confidence that under the leadership of President Bola Tinubu, the administration remains resolute in its mission to improve the lives of Nigerians.
As the nation enters the new year, Shettima emphasised that these crucial areas, which affect every citizen, will continue to be prioritised.
“In these times of economic transformation, I want to assure you that the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration remains resolute in its dedication to improving the lives of all Nigerians,” Shettima stated.
Speaking on the importance of national unity, particularly during the festive season, Shettima underscored the significance of embracing Nigeria’s diversity. He called on Nigerians to use the holiday period as an opportunity to strengthen the bonds of brotherhood across various faiths and regions.
“Nigeria’s diversity remains our greatest strength. Let us avail ourselves of the time provided by the holiday season to strengthen the bonds of brotherhood that unite us across all faiths and regions,” the Vice President urged.
On security, Shettima assured Nigerians of continued vigilance from the nation’s security forces, who, he said, will work tirelessly throughout the holiday season to ensure the safety of citizens.
“Our brave security personnel will continue to work round the clock during this festive period to keep us safe. Enhanced security measures have been put in place to protect citizens during this holiday season,” Shettima noted.
He further encouraged travellers to remain vigilant, as relevant security agencies have been mobilised to ensure the safety and comfort of Nigerians on major routes.
The Vice President also expressed optimism about the nation’s future, stating that he was filled with hope and confidence as the country moves into the new year.
He highlighted the government’s efforts to create opportunities for the youth, who he described as “the backbone of the nation,” noting that various initiatives are being implemented to empower young Nigerians to contribute to the country’s growth.
“I am filled with hope and optimism about Nigeria’s future. Together, we will build a more prosperous and united nation. To our young people, you are the backbone of our nation. The Renewed Hope administration is implementing various initiatives to create opportunities for you to thrive and contribute to Nigeria’s development,” Shettima concluded.
