Christmas: New Ondo CP assures of adequate security
Mr Oyeyemi Oyediran, the new Commissioner of Police in Ondo, has assured residents of his commitment to ensure adequate security, especially before, during, and after the yuletide.
Reports state that Oyediran, who assumed duty as the 41st commissioner of police in Ondo, replaced Mr Bolaji Salami, who retired from service.
The police commissioner sought for the support the media and other stakeholders to make the state crime-free.
“We are in yuletide period where all hands should be on desk to ensure Ondo state is free from crime, because I cannot do it alone, but with God and newsmen, I know we shall succeed.
“I can assure you that we are going to do our best to ensure that people sleep with their eyes closed. I am not a man of many words, I believe in action,” he said.
Oyediran also pledged to ensure respect for the rule of law, and prevent all forms of human rights abuses by police personnel.
It was reported that Oyediran is an alumnus of the University of Ibadan, member, International Association of Chiefs of Police and a Fellow of the Institute for Security Studies.
Until his posting to Ondo Command, Oyediran was in charge of the Police Railway Command.
