Christmas: Nasarawa lawmaker tasks Christians on peace, love
Alhaji Agah Muluku, a member of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly(Eggon East) has urged Christians and all Nigerians to embrace peace and love for the overall development of the country particularly during the Christmas season, and beyond.
Muluku, who made the call in a statement on Saturday in lafia,also called on Christians to use the season to reflect toward a peaceful society.
Muluku, who is Chairman, House Committee on SDGs, Planning and Budget, also enjoined Christains and other Nigerians to continue to pray for the nation’s unity, peace and development.
” On behalf of myself, my family and the entire people of Nassarawa Eggon East Constituency, I wish to congratulate the Christians in my constituency and all over the world on the celebration of Christmas, which marks the birth of Jesus Christ.
” I want to use this medium to call on the people of my constituency and Nigerians to continue to live in peace, be their brother’s keeper and respect constituted authorities for development to thrive,” he said.
He also urged Christains to reflect on the teachings of Jesus Christ which centre around love, peace, tolerance, forgiveness among others.
Muluku called on Nigerians to extend their hands of friendship and support to the needy in the society.
” This is to make them happy at all times, improve on their standard of living and enable them contribute positively to the development of the society, ” he added.
The lawmaker, who prayed for a peaceful Christmas celebration, also prayed for peaceful and successful general elections in 2023.
He, however, assured the people of his constituency of more dividends of democracy, if he re-elected in 2023.
