Christmas: Imbibe love, tolerance, Lalong urges Nigerians
Gov. Simon Lalong of Plateau has urged Nigerians to imbibe the attributes of love, tolerance, truth, justice and compassion, as they celebrate this year’s Christmas.
Lalong made the call in a Christmas message issued by his Director of Press and Public Affairs, Dr Makut Macham, on Friday in Jos.
He said that such attributes, which distinguished the lifestyle of Jesus Christ, should be emulated by both Christians and non-Christians in their regular interactions and daily routines.
While congratulating Christians on the occasion of the festival, Lalong urged them to use the period to reflect on the hope and joy that the birth of Jesus Christ brought to humanity.
The governor implored Christians to use the event as an opportunity to assist the less-privileged and also extend love to people of other faiths.
He also urged residents of the state to be vigilant and report any suspicious activity to security agencies, while also tasking the security agencies to be at their best in the discharge of their duties, particularly during the yuletide.
