Christmas: APC group tasks Nigerians on unity, peace

The National Coordinator, All Progressives Congress Volunteers Group, Mr Victor Walsh, has called on all Nigerians to be united in rebuilding the country, in the spirit of Christmas season.

Walsh in a statement by his Media Adviser, Mr Akin Makanjuola, on Wednesday in Abuja, also advised Nigerians to embrace peace and unity, which he described as “foundation of every great nation”

He also urged government to intensify its economic development and welfare programmes towards improving the living standard of the people.

He enjoined members of the group to remain patriotic and focused.

“We are the agents of change Nigeria needed at this critical period; to heal the land and mobilise Nigerians for the noble task of peace building reconciliation and reconstruction,” Walsh said.

While felicitating Christians on Christmas celebration, he called on misguided people perpetrating evil in the bush to surrender their arms and come to the negotiating table, saying violence has never solved any human problem.

Walsh said pledged to use the holidays period to meet some of Nigerians in diaspora to brainstorm on how to move the nation forward and create a good image for the country abroad.

He also said that he would used the opportunity to brainstorm on how to make Nigerians buy into the concept of (Volunteerism) as a means towards national reconstruction, reconciliation and peace building
