Christian convert in Edo State faces death threats from Community elders
Eboreime Osamaye Victor, a young man from Edo state is facing death threats from his community elders for refusing to take up the position of traditional chief priest.
Victor, who hails from a family of idol worshippers, converted to Christianity five years ago and has since refused to participate in the community’s traditional rituals and practices. However, following the death of his uncle, who served as the chief priest, the community elders have insisted that Victor take up the position, citing ancient customs and traditions.
The community elders have warned Victor that if he refuses to comply, he will be buried alive and his head will be cut off and taken to the shrine as a sacrifice. Since his uncle’s death, Victor has been living in fear, with kidnappers and assassins allegedly sent by the community elders hot on his heels.
In a desperate plea for help, Victor has reached out to Nigerians, citing the influential and powerful status of the community elders and expressing his fear for his life.
