Chief Amuzu charges Nigerian youths to participate in politics
Chief Toyin Antony Amuzu has charged Nigerian youths to increase their participation politics across the country.
Amuzu gave this call while speaking with journalists in Abeokuta after being installed as the Asiwaju Leragun of Egbaland by the Paramount Ruler of Egbaland,Oba Adedotun Michael Gbadebo in his Ake palace in Abeokuta Ogun state.
Amuzu advised that the youths to join politics, saying the elders will continue to rule and will drive the future of the country to wherever they so wish. He noted that if the youths could get themselves involved in politics things would change for good.
According to him, “There is nothing we can do without the youths. Youths are the leaders of this country. I always encourage the youths to get involve to make Nigeria great. If we keep saying we don’t want to get involved, then who is going to get involved to change it. We all have to do it together.
“As at yesterday,Toyin Amuzu football tournament kicked off. It’s just a way of bringing the youth together and to encourage them. I always tell the youths there are better things to do to better your life.”
When asked about the situation of the country and how borrowing has affected the country’s economy, he said, “If we keep borrowing and we are not seeing what we are borrowing for that means we are not in a safe trade.”
However, the paramount ruler of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo advised the newly installed chief to always be of good conduct as he has always done.
He further charged him never to relent in his endeavours and remember that he is a model for the youths of Egbaland.
He said, “I believe he is going to be a good chief to Egbaland because he has always done the right thing and he will continue to do the right thing.
“The youths need to stand up and join the race, they need to stand up for themselves because their destiny is in their hands.”
