Channel all available resources to develop Nigeria –– Cleric charges FG

The President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria General Muhammadu Buhari has been told to channel some resource to better the livelihood of it citizenry and not to go after anyone who is glamouring for self determination and face insurgence illicit killings in the country.

This call was made by the Arch Bishop of Methodist Church Umuahia diocese  Rev Dr Chibuzor Raphael Opoko while declaring open the Methodist Women Fellowship Conference held at the Methodist theological Institute Mission Hill Umuahia.

Bishop Opoko said  it was high time for Mr president to address this continuous killings noting that so many worst things happening in this country, “people using knife to behead other people, everybody is living  in fear more trouble here and there and nobody is saying anything.

“There is banditry, kidnapping, armed robbery, Fulani herdsmen raping, killing and burning down villages and communities, people are in terrible fear in this country and nothing is done.”

He frowned at the way and manner the present government of the have deployed large sums of money in bringing back Nnamdi Kanu and Igboho that is only where their strength is, leaving aside all the criminals to go scot-free in this country.

Rev Opoko maintained that if they had deployed the huge sums of money they deployed in bringing Nnamdi back in prosecuting insecurity the country would have been better and the economy would have been boosted for everyone in the country.

He stated that there is so much injustice in this country, adding that the country does not uphold justice saying that God will judge Nigeria.

The bishop insisted that  if you give a woman power, leadership, this country will be better according to him Women Cares, they want progress and they want their children to progress and they have love.

He explained that any woman that can carry a child for nine months in her womb is a mother insisted that men in Nigeria has failed us.

He urged the women folk to hold to the virtueness and the good life they are living and all they are doing so that there will be peace and progress in every home and country.

Speaking, the wife of the State controller Correctional Service Abia State, Mrs Ijeoma Kalu congratulated the women for their conference said that the theme of the conference is apt.

She urged women to always pray so that there will be no temptation, so that there will be peace progress in their families.

She promised to partner with the Methodist women in empowering the less privileged in the society.

The wife of the Arch Bishop of Methodist Church Umuahia diocese Nneoma Dr Alice Opoko thanked the women for taking out time to gather for the 2021 women conference which theme is watch and pray.

She urged them to continue to pray for the peace and progress of their families and the country at large.

The wife of Arch Bishop encouraged the women to make sure that the empowerment programe they embarked upon will never be forgotten but will help to alleviate the present condition of the less privileged in their mist especially in this critical period of the country.

The highlight of the occasion was the award of honour to distinguished members of their church and empowerment of the less privilaged members.

The Methodist Women Fellowship Conference in Umuahia ended with a call for Nigerians to allow a woman presidentship of the country to bring back peace in the nation.
