The National Population Commission (NPC) has trained 30 journalists to ensure effective coverage of the 2023 population and housing census in Bauchi State.

The Federal Commissioner, NPC, Mr Ibrahim Darazo said this at a one-day training exercise for media practitoners on Thursday in Bauchi.

He said the training exercise was imperative in view of the role of the media towards ensuring successful conduct of the exercise.

The NUJ Chairman, Mr Umar Sa’idu stressed the need for journalists to ensure quality reportage for the successful conduct of the exercise.

“As the fourth estate of the realm, journalists should adhere to all professional ethics in reporting population and housing census,” he said.
