The Civil Society Coalition on Security, Peace and Conflict Resolutions (CCSPCR) has commended President Bola Ahmad Tinubu for establishing the Northwest Development Commission, describing it as a “landmark significant milestone” in the region’s development.
In a statement signed by its President, Alh Muhammed Musubahu Basirka, CCSPCR applauded the President’s “decisive leadership” in signing the bill into law.
The coalition sees the commission’s creation as a “monumental achievement” that will catalyze positive change and sustainable development in the northern region.
CCSPCR recommended that the commission prioritize enhanced security, job opportunities for women and youth, and strategic development partnerships.
“Ensuring the safety and security of the northern communities is paramount,” the statement read.
The coalition advised the commission to implement comprehensive security measures, provide job opportunities, and collaborate with development partners to strategize and implement impactful development programs.
CCSPCR assured its commitment to supporting the commission’s efforts, stating, “With the right focus and collaborative efforts, the Northwest region will experience unprecedented growth and prosperity.”
