Caverton marine, ExploMar partner to electrify Lagos ferries

Caverton Marine Limited has announced a strategic partnership with ExploMar (Suzhou) Energy Technology Co. Ltd. to electrify its Lagos State passenger ferries, known as OMIBUS.

This collaboration introduces advanced electric outboard engines from ExploMar into the fleet, aiming to enhance operational efficiency while reducing carbon emissions.

The OMIBUS ferries, recently launched by Caverton Marine and commissioned by the Lagos State government, are set to transform water transportation in the region.

The integration of ExploMar’s electric engines aligns with Caverton’s commitment to sustainability and innovation.

CEO of Caverton Offshore Support Group, Bode Makanjuola, highlighted the milestone, stating, “This agreement with ExploMar is a significant step towards sustainable maritime operations and a greener future for Nigeria.”

CEO of ExploMar, Alex Dong, expressed enthusiasm for the project, noting its potential to set new standards in marine transport across Africa.
