Capitalisation increases further to N432bn as Market closes last week

The Nigerian equities market on Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX) maintained its bullish performance at the close of trade on Friday as market the stock like, Nem insurance, Academy Press, Cadbury and others lifts capitalisation increased further to N432 billion.

The Benchmark index, All share index appreciated by 801.18 basis points or 1.64 per cent from 48,837.76 basis points recorded at the close of trade on Thursday to close the week on Friday at 49,638.64 basis points, while overall market capitalisation followed to close at N26.760 trillion from N26.328 trillion it closed on Thursday.

Trade volume moved higher by 743 per cent from 759,648,190 million units week, 6,405,732,462 million units it closed on Friday, valued by N30.239billion Fifth-Six(6) equities appreciated in price during the week, higher than fifth (50) equities in the previous week.

Twenty-Six(26)equities depreciated in price lower than Twenty-Nine(29)equities in the previous week, While Seventy-Four(74)equities remained unchanged lower than Seventy-Seven(77) equities recorded in the previous week On the gainers chart, Nem insurance gained 10 percent increased to close trade at N4.40 per share, followed by academy press which rose by 9.70 per cent to close at N1.47 per share, while Cadbury grew by 9.63 per cent to close trade at N10,25 per share.

Champion appreciated by 9.57 per cent to close trade at N 2.52 per share and Julius Berger went up by 9.35 per cent to close trade at N 30.40 per share On the losers chart, Nigerian police force microfinance Bank dipped by 1o per cent to close trade at N1. 98 per share, followed by transexp which dropped by 8.99 per cent to close at N0.8l per share, while External PLC declined by 7.38 per cent to close trade at N6.02 per share CORNEST went down by 4.84 per cent to close trade at No, 59 per share and Dangote Sugar dropped by 4,42 to close trade at Nl6.2 per share

Transaction in the share of Honey flour topped the activity chart by 25.608 billion shares valued at 6.098 million, followed by Transcorp which traded 42.208 million share worth 36.078 million. Aiico insurance transacted 20.894 million shares valued at 27.134million.

FCMB traded 84.6l2 million shares valued at 22,093 million and lastly, First Bank of Nigeria Holding traded 196.95l million shares valued at 16.497 million
