The Christian Association of Nigeria, Osun State Chapter, has called on Christians in the State to continue to support the administration of Governor Adegboyega Oyetola, which it described as a focused and proactive government armed with positive plans for the State.
The Chairman of the Osun State Christian Association Nigeria (OS-CAN), Rt. Reverend Amos Kayode Olu Ogunrinde, while declaring open the 2021 Annual General Meeting of OS-CAN, on Tuesday, also commended the commitment of the Oyetola-led administration to the safety and security of lives of citizens, adding that plans to construct a flyover at Olaiya Junction were proof of that commitment.
He also commended Governor Oyetola for the measures and approaches he has adopted to ensure peace and unity in the State.
“All thanks to God for the relative peace we have continued to enjoy in Osun State. Though the emergence of Covid-19 and ENDSARS saga were trying period for us as citizens of this State, up till now, we are not totally free from their effect.
“However, we must give glory to God for the wisdom given to our dear Governor, His Excellency, Mr Adegboyega Oyetola, his Deputy and members of his cabinet to give the needed leadership at this our trying period.
“We commend the governor for his proactive measures to ensure that the State was kept together and protected without things going out of hands. His approach and measures put in place to contend with the second wave of Covid-19 are also commendable.
“May I assure the government of Mr Adegboyega Oyetola that OS-CAN will continue to collaborate with him in our small way to ensure that all his positive plans and projects for Ipinle Omoluabi are implemented.
“Please, don’t be distracted by the enemies of progress on your plan to construct flyover at Olaiya in Osogbo for the safety of lives of the citizens.
“May I hereby call on all Christians in the State of Osun to give Mr Adegboyega Oyetola’s administration the maximum support it needs”, Ogunrinde stated.
In his response, Governor Adegboyega Oyetola, who was represented at the event by the Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Dr Obawale Adebisi, commended the Christian Association of Nigeria for being a dependable ally in his administration’s quest to promote peace and unity among the people of Osun.
He called on Christians in the State to continue to support his administration and the State at large, with prayers for the continued peace and prosperity of the State.
