CAF Confederation Cup: How we beat Rivers United in Uyo – Young Africans coach
Young Africans head coach, Nasreddine Nabi has attributed his side’s victory against Rivers United to their impressive marksmanship.
The Tanzanian Premier League champions put one foot in the semi-finals after a stunning 2-0 win at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo.
Congolese import Fiston Mayele opened scoring for the Citizen in the 73rd minute after skipper Bakari Mwamnyeto set him up.
Mayele scored the second nine minutes later, with Mwamnyeto also the provider.
“I am delighted to win because it is not easy to come to Nigeria and win. We played well and took our chances, but the game is far from over,” Nabi was quoted by CAFonline.
“We still have the second leg and we need to do even better to ensure we qualify.”
The second leg will take place this Sunday at the Benjamin Nkapa Stadium, Dar es Salaam.
