The Registrar-General/CEO of the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), Hussaini Ishaq Magaji (SAN) has emerged as the winner of 2024 NewsDirect’s Exemplary Leadership Award in Public Service.

The award, which is in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the public service, was presented at the
14th NIGERIAN NEWSDIRECT Award of Excellence/Man of the Year Awards Ceremony.

Held on Friday, 6th Dec., 2024, at the Grand Ballroom, Oriental Hotel, Lagos, the event was themed “ACHIEVING ECONOMIC PROSPERITY: FISCAL PRUDENCE AND REVENUE GENERATION.

Presenting the award on behalf of NewsDirect’s Editorial Board, Prince Mathew Ibiyemi highlighted a series of reform initiatives undertaken since Hussaini Ishaq Magaji assumed duty as CAC Boss on 16th October, 2023.

Ibiyemi said the decision to honour him took a comparative look at different CEOs in the country, government agencies, and actors and drivers of the Nigerian economy anchored on indices of quality, due process, and sectoral impacts, among other deliverables.

Accepting the award, the Registrar-General thanked Newsdirect for finding him worthy of the award and pledged to continue to implement far-reaching reforms to make the CAC operate at par with its global peers.

Represented by the Head of Public Affairs, Dominic O. Inyang, accompanied by Mabuyaku Oritsematosin Joan, Deputy Director, Head Alausa Office, the Registrar-General further stated that the Commission was being repositioned to be more customer-centric to the satisfaction of valued customers and the public.

The event was chaired by Otunba Bimbo Ashiru (Chairman Odua Investment Company Ltd) and attended by state governors of Ogun, Borno, and Jigawa who also received various awards.

Heads of agencies such as the NDLEA, DIASPORA COMMISSION, and NIMC, amongst others, also won various awards.
