Businesswoman rescued from her abductors in Rivers

A businesswoman who was abducted last week in Port Harcourt, Onyi Ugba has regained her freedom after spending eight days in captivity.

Ugba was Kidnapped in her superstore, located at Umuoji junction, Okija Street Mile 2 Diobu Port Harcourt, in Port Harcourt City local government area of Rivers State.

A source close to the family told reporters that the businesswoman regained her freedom on Friday night.

Our source, however, did not disclose whether a ransom was paid for her release.

The Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO for the Rivers State Police Command, SP Grace Iringe-Koko also confirmed the release of Ugba.

SP Iringe-Koko said operatives of the Command who were on a stop and search operation in Abaili Park Division, Mile 1 intercepted the vehicle where the victim was kept blindfolded.

She added that an investigation has commenced to arrest the perpetrators of the crime.
