Thanking the the APC National Chairman and others in his entourage for the condolence visit, Gov. Abiodun said he was no doubt hit by the sudden demise of his father saying that he never actually prepared for it when it happened.

Abiodun described his 89-year-old father as a conscientious teacher, a loving father and husband to his wife of 65 years, a highly humble and devoted Christian saying that he would sorely be missed for being such an amazing father.

The governor explained further that “we, however at this point in time must do some soul searching and think of how we shall be celebrated or what will people say or write about us after bidding the world farewell.”

Meanwhile, the immediate past governor of the state, Sen. Ibikunle Amosun had earlier visited the family house of Gov. Abiodun to condole with him over the passage of his father, Pa Emmanuel Abiodun.

Amosun who arrived the Abiodun family house around 10:38am came in company of Hon. Mickey Kazeem, former House of Representatives member representing Abeokuta North/Obafemi-Owode/Odeda federal constituency among other political associates.

The former governor went straight to sign the condolence register after which he went inside the house to greet Abiodun’s family and left immediately.

Gov. Abiodun was also not around when Amosun came while the former governor also refused to speak to the press.

It will be recalled that Amosun and Gov. Abiodun who used to be good friends and political associates had parted ways owing to Amosun’s rock solid opposition to the the desire of Abiodun to take over from him as the next governor of the state.
