President Muhammadu Buhari, on Friday attended the wedding (Nikkah) of his son, Yusuf Muhammadu Buhari in the Bichi Emirate Council of Kano State.
Yusuf, who is the Talban Daura, married Zahra Nasiru Bayero, daughter of the 2nd Emir of Bichi.
The wedding ceremony was officiated by the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Dr. Isa Ali Pantami, after the representative of the groom Malam, Mamman Daura, paid the sum of N500,000 to the representative of the bride Malam, Aminu Dantata as dowry.
The wedding ceremony, which took place at the Emir’s Palace in Bichi witnessed the presence of governors, ministers traditional rulers, captains of industries, politicians as well as members of the diplomatic community.
Former Nigerien President Mouhamadu Yesuofu, former President Goodluck Jonathan, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar were present.
Others dignitaries who attended the event include the host Gov. Umar Ganduje, IGP. Usman Baba-Alkali, former Chief of Army Staff Tukur Buratai, former IGP Mohammed Adamu, Gov. of Enugu, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, Gov of Borno Prof. Babagana Zulum, Gov. of Niger, Nasarawa, Kogi, Gombe, Jigawa, Katsina, Sokoto, Bauchi, Zamfara, Cross River among others
