Brothers killed by horse riders in Kano

By Salim Umar Ibrahim, Kano

Two elderly  brothers in Kano riding a motorcycle along Sokoto Road have been killed by horse riders.

The horse riders trampled Inuwa Sani and Abdurrahaman Sani, who are residents of Yakasai quarters.

The sibling’s mother Rukayya Ali said her sons were killed on their way to greet her.

She said each of the deceased was survived by a wife and six children.

When contacted, Kano state police spokesperson, Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa has confirmed the incident.

Mr Kiyawa, a deputy superintendent of police, accused one  Sadiq Adamu, 22, and seven of his friends of planning the horse ride.

He said they have arrested two of the suspects who would be arraigned after investigation.

It could be recalled that the Kano Emirate has banned horse riding in Kano metropolis due to the several cases of killings and wounding of road users by  the riders.
