Industry statistics released by the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has revealed an increase of 2.13per cent in broadband penetration to 45.43 per cent in September.
The report also disclosed that Nigeria’s Internet subscribers hit a total of 150million in the month of September.
According to the industry statistics released by NCC, Globacom emerged as the highest internet gainer of the month, adding 638,230 subscribers to bring its total to about 39.12 million.
Airtel also followed, adding 519,257 subscribers to bring its total to 40.31 million during the month.
While MTN added 462,484 subscribers to extend its number of subscribers to 64.35 million.
9mobile continued its surge from June, adding 104,473 internet subscribers to bring its total number of subscribers to 7.27 million.
The total number of active telephony subscriptions in Nigeria also reached 205,252,058 in September 2020.
With Globacom emerging as the highest gainer of the month, the industry gained a total of 1.7 million subscribers during the month.
Also, Glo added 1.32 million subscribers to bring its total number of subscribers to 54.25 million.
Airtel comes in second, adding 483,851 subscribers to close the gap between itself and Globacom. By this indication, Airtel now has a total mobile subscriber base of 55.25 million.
9mobile added another 351,610 subscribers in September to bring its total number of subscribers to 12.72 million.
