Brigadier Kingsley Uwa has pledged the Nigerian Army’s unwavering commitment to maintaining peace and security in Taraba

The Commander of the 6 Brigade, Brigadier Kingsley Uwa, has pledged the Nigerian Army’s unwavering commitment to maintaining peace and security in Taraba State and the entire country.

Uwa made the pledge on Friday while playing host to chairmen of the 16 LGAs in the state, who paid him a condolence visit over the demise of the Chief of Army Staff, COAS, Lieutenant General General TA Lagbaja.

He emphasized the Brigade’s commitment to its duties and assured that the troops would continue to carry out their responsibilities with resilience and professionalism.

The commander reiterated the importance of fostering stability in the region and highlighted ongoing efforts of the Brigade to uphold law and order.

The reassurance comes as part of continued efforts to strengthen confidence in the military’s role in safeguarding the state and its people.

Speaking on behalf of the delegation, the Taraba State Chairman, Association of Local Governments of Nigeria, ALGON, who also doubles as the Chairman of Jalingo local government council, Dr. Aminu Jauro Hassan, conveyed the collective grief and sympathy of the entire state over the passing of the Army chief.

He commended the 6 Brigade of the Nigerian Army for its steadfast dedication and recognized the significant loss to the nation following the death of the Chief of Army Staff.

Jauro also applauded late General Lagbaja’s exceptional leadership and contribution to the security and stability of Taraba State and the country at large.

The chairman further stressed that the late COAS has written his name in gold and will not be forgotten in the anals of history.

“We must commiserate with his family, the Nigerian Army and the nation at large.

“And as we continue to pray for the repose of his soul, let us uphold the values, virtues and legacies he built in the course of his career in the military, concluding that his demise is a loss to all,” Jauro said.
