The Bureau of Pubic Enterprises (BPE) has received a four-star ranking and recognition from the SERVICOM Corporate Office following the Parastatals Functionality Evaluation conducted in November 2019.
A statement issued in Abuja by Amina Othman, Head, Public Communications of the BPE, made this known to newsmen.
Mr Alex Okoh, the Director-General of BPE, lauded the positive impact of the bureau’s Servicom Unit which led to its recognition and ranking.
At the SERVICOM Day Symposium hosted by the BPE, Okoh said that the unit was key in driving the bureau’s service delivery initiatives.
The symposium had its theme as “Teamwork for Enhanced Productivity in the Workplace”.
He said that each member of staff was required to embrace the principles of teamwork in the discharge of responsibilities, adding that the advantages of teamwork were enormous.
Mrs Nnenna Akajemeli, the SERVICOM Chief Executive Officer, said that team building was a collective term for various types of activities used to enhance social relations and define roles within teams, often involving collaborative tasks.
She implored the BPE management to always identify and motivate individual employees to form teams that stay together and work together to promote a competitive economy.
Mrs Martina Omojola, Head of BPE’s SERVICOM Unit, said the unit was the panacea for ineffectiveness and corruption in organisations.
She thanked the director-general for supporting the unit to achieve the purpose for which it was set up and urged the bureau’s staff to continue exhibiting the core values which it was known for.
She also called for mentorship by the older staff for the younger ones so that they would not be deviant.
