BPE issues EOI for concession of Zungeru Hydropower Station

The Bureau of Public Enterprises (BPE) has made known its plans to concession the Zungeru Hydropower station. The BPE has issued an invitation for Expressions of Interest (EOI) from prospective Technical Advisers.

The Advisors will  “provide transaction advisory services” for the concession of the Zungeru hydro plant.

The Transaction Advisors will evaluate the current status of the hydropower plant as well as, prepare the plant for concession. The Advisors will also, review all relevant laws, regulations and policies that can impact the concession as well as, develop a detailed concession plan in line with the National Council on Privatization (NCP) criteria for concessions.

The EOI requires the interested advisors  to provide a detailed profile of the company as well as, “proof of capabilities in carrying out the concession of a large hydroelectric power plant indicating the number of years of experience and list of relevant transactions handled” the document read.

Zungeru hydropower station is currently at 87% completion and is expected to generate 2,630 gigawatts hour of electricity per annum to the national grid.
