Borno CP seeks synergy with sister agencies for effective security

The newly appointed Commissioner of Police in Borno, Mr Abdu Umar, has called for clossr working relationship with sister security agencies to enhance security network in the state.

Umar made the call during a familiarisation visit to the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Borno Sector Command, on Wednesday in Maiduguri.

He said that the visit was to appreciate the existing synergy between the police and FRSC, adding that it also aimed at exploring other areas of collaboration for effective service delivery.

“We have different functions that are interwoven and we need to collaborate to succeed.

“I want us to have more synergy by improving our relationship as we all work towards a common goal to protect lives and property,” he said.

Responding, the Sector Commander, Mr Sanusi Ibrahim lauded the Commissioner for his commitment towards improving relationship with sister organisations and assured him of the FRSC support.

“I want to congratulate you for this well deserved appointment as Commissioner of Police.

“I learnt that this is the sixth time you will be coming to serve in Borno on various capacities, and I saw the rousy welcome the people of Borno accorded you as a prove that you have always deliver,” he said.

Ibrahim said that the FRSC appreciated the police for its support towards ensuring safety on the roads, adding that the police also played vital role in providing security during the recent screening for the FRSC recruitment exercise.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the CP also paid similar to the headquarters of the Nigeria Correctional Service (NCoS), in Maiduguri.
