Boboye vows to revive sinking Heartland

Newly appointed Heartland head coach, Kennedy Boboye has vowed to help revive the fortunes of the club.

Boboye was named the Naze Millionaire’s new head coach on Wednesday.

The Owerri club sacked erstwhile handler of the side, Christian Obi following their poor start to the 2023/24 campaign.

Heartland is without a win after nine games.

The former Nigeria Premier Football League champions occupy the last position on the table with six points.

Boboye has, however, declared his readiness to help the club move up on the table.

“I am ready for the task. I had different thoughts when I was contacted initially because of the club’s position on the league table but with what I have seen on the ground I am certain we can pull through,” Boboye told Heartland FC Media.

“We need everyone to get to work. You are going to be seeing a new mentality in the team. The players have assured me there would be changes and I am excited to be here.”

Boboye’s first game in charge of Heartland will be the oriental derby against holders Enyimba on Saturday.
