…Says Bakery and Water company will gulf N220 million

In fulfilling the campaign promises of the Governor of Benue State, Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia has revealed that the Benue Investment and Property Company (BIPC) under his watch will make Benue the hub of business in the country.

The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (MD/CEO), Dr . Raymond Asemakaha made the disclosure on Tuesday while addressing journalists shortly after visiting sites of the brewery, bakery and water factories in Makurdi.

Dr Asemakaha, explained that the company is set to give Benue and Nigerians high premium quality beer that is made in Benue using fresh raw materials.

He further explained that BIPC is not in competition with any beer company and would do her best for the people to enjoy a beer with a difference.

According to the MD, records show that alcoholic contents make sales of N870m monthly in the State.

He stated that the purpose of establishing beer company is to avert financial flight and ensure the financial circulation within the system to boost the State economy.

According to him, the brewery would cost the company over N800m and shares would be open for Benue indigenes to participate.

The MD revealed that a total of 23 shares will be reserved for the 23 LGAs of the State to subscribe one percent each.

He further explained that the company would commence production of 180,000 bottles per day and added that fermentation alone takes 15 days.

Dr Asemakaha said the company has planned adequately for the raw materials needed for the production of its beer.

On the Water and Bakery factories, Dr Asemakaha said the two companies sited within the same premises at Tse – Ayu, along George Akume Way would gulf the sum of N220m to be completed.

He said the companies would be completed and commissioned on May 27th.

He said the water factory from a start would be producing 3000 bottles within an hour and 9000 per day and would increase as the demand increases.

Earlier, the Head, Business Development and Strategy, BIPC, Mrs Theresa Abeda said her office is saddled with the responsibility of initiating business ideas that would.bring development and improved revenue for the state for execution.

She added that the department has capable hands to always deliver on their responsibility.
