Biafra: Nnamdi Kanu’s trial should expire today – IPOB lawyer, Ejimakor tells Supreme Court

Aloy Ejimakor, the Special Counsel to Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has urged the Supreme Court to ensure justice in the case of the agitator.

He urged the Supreme Court to ensure that Kanu’s trial expires today.

Tweeting, he said the court should be guided by equity, justice, and good conscience in deciding Kanu’s case.

According to Ejimakor: “As the Supreme Court convenes to hear Onyendu # MNK’s appeal today, let equity, justice & good conscience guide the hand of the Court to undo the grave injustice that was done to Mazi Nnamdi Kanu almost two years ago. Injustice has an expiry date. Let today be that expiry date.”

News earlier reported that the apex court will on Thursday (today) hear the appeal Kanu filed over his continuous detention at the Department of State Services, DSS, facility in Abuja.

The appeal, which was filed on November 3, 2022, was against the decision of the Court of Appeal which, on October 28 2022, stayed the execution of its earlier order acquitting him of all charges and directing his release from the custody of the secret police.
