Benue SUBEB Chairman debunks allegations of collecting money for recruitment

…Assures thorough investigation into the matter

Following the report on Social Media alleging that Staff of the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Benue State are extorting money from members of the public Fifteen Thousand (N15,000) per person for the sake of teachers recruitment, the Executive Chairman Benue State Universal Basic Education Board, Comrade Joseph Utse has dismissed in its entirety the allegation.

Comrade Utse also described the allegation as false, unfounded and fashioned by people who never meant well for the administration of Governor Samuel Ortom with the sole aim of tarnishing his people oriented governance for just no reason.

The SUBEB  Executive Chairman refuted the allegation while fielding questions from Journalists in his office about the allegation, maintained that SUBEB under his watch will ensure that thorough investigation will be conducted into  the allegation with a view to unearth perpetrators and ensure adequate Justice.

” Governor Samuel Ortom want to recruit more teachers in Primary Schools but the process is on going and wonder why someone will rise and start saying that SUBEB is collecting money for an exercise which is yet to commence.

” This is uncalled for and I urge members of the public to disregard the allegations, SUBEB under my reign will not tolerate such act and the issue of recruitment will be handled transparently inline with Governor Ortom administration policies of transparency, accountability, equity and fairness  when the time comes.”  Utse stated.

The Chairman assured Members of the public that SUBEB under his watch will leave no stone unturned to bring to book the perpetrators.

He recalled that some of the perpetrators are already in the police net which include; a man impersonating as consultant of  the board who was arrested by the security operatives and is facing trial in the law court, another one was apprehended  in connection to stealing Primary Schools property at St. Catherine’s Primary school Makurdi and more are on their way coming.
