Benue SUBEB chairman charges contractors to execute projects according to specifications

Contractors handling various projects with State Universal Basic Education Board SUBEB have been charged to execute such projects according to specifications.

Executive Chairman Benue State Universal Basic Education Board SUBEB Rev. Emmanuel Aper  gave the charge when he led Board members and other management  staff to inspect some ongoing projects within  the state said the Board would not accept any Job  done below  the acceptable standard.

Rev. Aper who expressed satisfaction with quality of work done by some contractors   stated that those whose work did not met the requirements would be made to re do them before payment.

Speaking during the monitoring ,State Coordinator of Universal Basic Education Commission Mrs Augustina Sanchi said  the attitude of some of the contractors who she said have chosen to do the wrong thing having been told what they are supposed to do are expected to stop work and report back to SUBEB for clarification before they will be allowed to continue with the jobs.

Permanent member one of SUBEB Mr Mike Kusa who spoke on behalf of other members said the Board would sanction any contractor that refused to do the work according to the specifications so as to serve as deterrent to others.

Earlier Technical officer of SUBEB for Tarka Mr Michael kumba and that of Gboko Mr Pius Aganyi said in the course of monitoring the projects in their local Governments  discovered that some of the contractors were going contrary to specifications and directed that works should stop immediately and reported to the monitoring unit of SUBEB for necessary action .

Nigerian NewsDirect reports that Schools visited were RCM primary school, LGEA primary school,and NKST primary school all in Wanune Tarka local Government and RCM primary school Ier, RCM primary school Amua and LGEA primary school Tse Kucha all in Gboko Local Government.
