The Executive Secretary Benue State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), Dr. Emmanuel Shior, has appealed to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to unfreeze the agency’s accounts.
Shior made the appeal on Wednesday during the agency’s monthly distribution of food items to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in the State at its headquarters in Makurdi.
He appealed to Commission to continue doing its work at the agency but in the same vain, unfreeze SEMA’s accounts and allow its officials to do their work.
He explained that the agency handles humanitarian affairs and needed to have access to its funds for effective operations.
Dr. Shior further explained that the agency was distributing thousands bags of rice, timbers of yams, and non food items such as stoves, sanitisers amongst others.
He said the distribution would cover both the official and unofficial IDPs camps in the State.
