Benue correspondents’ identifies with Ortom at 59

Benue State Correspondents’ Chapel, Nigeria Union of Journalists have identified with the Benue State Govvernor Samuel Ortom on the occasion of his Fifty Nine year anniversary.

Presenting a felicitation card to the Governor, the Acting Chairman of the Correspondents’Chapel Atta Ede of the Punch Newspaper, explained that it is necessary for the Chapel to identified with the Governor as one of their professional colleague who ihas sustained a cordial working relationship with the media community since he assumed office as the Governor of the State and has the overall plight of Benue People at heart.

Governor  Ortom who personally received the card  on Thursday at the Press Center Government House, acknowledged the support  of the media community which  the Correspondents’Chapel is not in exception to his administration and added that such rubost relationship would continue to exist for the overall good of Benue State.

He thanked  Benue people for always standing by him since the inception of his first and second tenure as Governor of the state.

Ortom further stated that he overwhelmed by the love and messages of goodwill send to him  by the people of the state on his 59th birthday anniversary.

He  enjoined the  people of the state to join him in prayers against the dreaded Coronavirus that is ravaging the globe, noting that only the mercies of God were enough to contain the pandemic.

On the issue of the total lockdown as agreed by the Nigeria Governor’s Forum (NGF), the Governor explained that Benue  will not be in exception and would fully enforce the total lockdown directive  to the latter as endorsed by the Nigerian Governors’ Forum,  as the decision was in the best interest of all Nigerians.
