Be your brothers’ keeper — Bishop charges Christians

By Saka Laaro, Ilorin

Christians, in celebration of this year’s Easter season, have been urged to always be their brothers’ keeper, and not their brothers’ killer.

The Bishop of Kwara Diocese, Anglican Communion, Rt. Revd Sunday Adewole made the call in his Easter message at Cathedral Church of St. Barnabas Sabo-Oke Ilorin, Kwara State with the theme, “The Coming End to all Tragedies.”

The Bishop who explained the importance of resurrection in the Christian as well as  the importance of the death of Jesus Christ noted that the blood of Jesus Christ takes away all human sins.

He noted that the sacrificed death of Jesus Christ on the Cross, brings reconciliation with God.

“Blood of Jesus Christ  is the Blood of eternal Covenant of God’s Grace and Mercy for the salvation and redemption of mankind, among other things,” he said.

He charged  worshippers to humbly seek for the interests of God’s kingdom, in all sincerity and honesty.

He said that every lost in this world, outside the lost of soul, is not the real tragedy noted that the real tragedy is the lost of souls in hellfire.

He, however, remarked that the Blood of Jesus Christ gives the direct access to the Holy of Holies.

“The Blood of Jesus Christ makes us reconcilable and acceptable to God,  gives us sanctification and the assurance of salvation.”

He stressed the need to always be conscious of the Second Coming of Jesus Christ, through the life of purity and obedience to God’s Word.
