Be good ambassadors, shun cultism — Gov Abiodun’s wife urges Ijebu youth

The wife of Ogun State Governor, Mrs Bamidele Abiodun has urged the Ijebu youth to be good ambassadors and shun cultism, drug abuse, and other vices.

Mrs Abiodun, represented by Alhaja Sade Gazal, commended the youth for their pivotal role in recent national protests and charged them to continue making Ogun State proud.

She facilitated the youth constituency on the occasion of the 2024 International Youth Day celebration and promised continuous support to the association.

“I urge you to be good ambassadors and shun cultism, drug abuse, and other vices. You are the future leaders and decision-makers, and equipping you with skills and knowledge will ensure a bright future for the nation,” she said.

Also, the Area Commander, ACP Edward Omosanyin, also present at the summit, emphasised the importance of steering clear of cultism and urged the youth to make positive choices.

The Head of Service, Mr. Kehinde Onasanya, represented by Mr. Benson Lateef, delivered a keynote address highlighting the vital role of youth empowerment in driving national growth and development.

“Supporting the youth will foster a sense of ownership and responsibility, encouraging them to contribute positively to their communities and the nation as a whole. By working together, we can unlock the full potential of the youth and build a brighter future for our nation,” he said.
