BDCs capacity building: ABCON begins nationwide training for members today

The Association of Bureaux De Change Operators of Nigeria (ABCON), has said that a nationwide training for its members on its operations is expected to begin on Monday.
The Executive Secretary Cletus Uduma announced in a schedule of training for licensed Bureau de Change (BDCs) operators obtained by Nigerian NewsDirect.
According to the Executive Secretary, “The training is in collaboration with the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and the Nigeria Financial Intelligence Unit( NFIU) and member of other security agencies.
According to Cletus, the training holds in five locations that include South West operators training which will hold in Lagos; South East and South South operators training in Anambra state; North Central operators training is scheduled to hold in Abuja as well as North West and North East operators training which will be held in Kano state.
H e said “The training is aimed at improving on members’ capacity building status. By training, ABCON also aims to equipping the Directors with the professional knowledge necessary to make the best of the business.”
Part of the scope of the training includes, daily and monthly report rendition, monthly balance sheet report and annual audited account- corporate governance, among others.
Recently President ABCON Dr Aminu Gwadabe disclosed recently in a special interview with Nigerian NewsDirect that the focus of the association is to build capacity of members so that they will continue to comply with rules and regulations.
