Bayelsa mourns death of Women Affairs Commissioner

The Bayelsa State Executive Council is in mourning following the passing of Elizabeth Bidei, the Commissioner for Women Affairs.

The news of her death was announced in a statement by the Commissioner for Information, Ebiuwou Koku-Obiyai, on Tuesday.

Obiyai expressed deep sympathy for the family of the late commissioner, especially her husband, Jackson Bidei, and their children. The cause and date of her death were not disclosed.

The statement read, “Our hearts go out to the grieving family. Our thoughts and prayers are with them during this incredibly difficult time. We hope they find comfort in knowing that Mrs. Bidei’s life and work had a profound impact on our state and its people.”

The statement continued, “As we mourn Mrs. Bidei, we will greatly miss her passion as a dedicated public servant and loyal party member, who worked tirelessly to advance the welfare and empowerment of women in our state.”
