One Ibrahim Mohamed Liman has been taken into custody by the Bauchi State Police Command in connection with the tragic abduction and murder of 8-year-old Kamal Aliyu in the Runjin Gani area of Toro Local Government Area.

The incident occurred on August 4, 2024, when Kamal was reported missing following his abduction by unidentified individuals in his home village of Runjin Gani.

In a statement provided to journalists on Thursday, Command Spokesman, SP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil revealed that Liman, who was a close neighbour of the victim’s family, admitted during interrogation to conspiring with an accomplice to kidnap Kamal.

“Liman disclosed that he lured the boy by pretending to deliver a message to his father, Alhaji Ali Runji.

“He admitted that he and his accomplice took Kamal to a nearby bush, where they killed him and buried his body in a shallow grave.

“The suspects allegedly demanded a ransom of two hundred thousand Naira from the boy’s father, but were unable to collect it due to the presence of security operatives in the area.”
