Bauchi agency, NGO partner on implementation of National Guideline on Self Care
An NGO, White Ribbon Aliance Nigeria has called for closer collaboration with the Bauchi State Primary Health Care Development Agency (BSPHCDA), to create awareness on implementation of the National Guideline on Self Care for Sexual, Reproductive and Maternal Health 2020.
The National Coordinator of the organisation, Mrs Christiana Asala, made the appeal during advocacy visit to the Chairman of the agency, Dr Rilwanu Mohammed, on Thursday in Bauchi.
She said the organisation extended its outreach to the agency and other stakeholders to seek for their commitment on the implementation of the new policy.
Asala said that the Federal Ministry of Health in collaboration with the World Health Organisation (WHO), representatives of state governments, the organisation and other stakeholders agreed on the modalities to promote practice of self care in the country. “The pilot project of the National Guideline on Self Care will be implemented in Bauchi and Niger,” she said.
The project, she said, was designed to ensure holistic implementation and effective regulation of services that require self care at all levels of governments.
In his remark, Mohammed commended the Federal Government for the implementation of the self care project.
He said that Gov. Bala Mohammed’s administration had accorded priority to the provision of quality healthcare services to the people of the state.
He reiterated the government commitment to support the organisation to facilitate successful implementation of project in the state.
