Bandits seek N20m to free my son, his wife, children — 86-year-old Mother cries out

…Says they vow to assassinate them if payment is not made

The families of persons kidnapped by  Bandits in Ungwan Sauri, Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna metropolis are crying for help from Nigerians and the government to help them raise the ransom demanded by the kidnappers.

One of such persons is 86-year-old Mrs Juliana Andrew Umoh.

According to Mrs. Umoh, the bandits who struck last Tuesday night abducted her son, his wife and his three children.

She said that the kidnappers refused to take her with them because she is an old woman.

Mrs.Umoh further explained that her son, Peter Andrew Umoh, aged 41 is the breadwinner of the whole family, adding that Peter’s children who were kidnapped along with him are 12 years, 11 years and the last being 6 months.

She said the kidnappers called them two days after the incident to demand for a ransom of N20 million or they would execute their victims. The 86-year-old woman lamented that in her entire life, she has not seen nor touched one million Naira, not to talk about coming about with N20 million.

Afraid that the kidnappers may kill her son and grandchildren, Umoh is appealing to Nigerians to come to her aid with whatever financial assistance .

“I am begging Nigerians  in the name of God to please help me with any amount they can so that I can rescue my children and grand children,” she said.

Speaking to our correspondent, Ms Josephine Andrew the younger sister to Peter Umoh added that the bandits rejected the N300,000  the Umohs had offered and threatened to kill the victims in the next 48 hours.

“As we speak, we afraid that they may carry out their threat of killing six innocent Nigerians.

“We are therefore, begging for support from Nigerians to help us,” she pleaded.
