Bandits kidnap Emir of Kajuru, 12 family members

The Emir of Kajuru, Alhaji Alhassan Adamu, and 12 members of his family have been abducted in the latest kidnapping spree act by bandits in Kaduna State.

Reports from close associate of the Emir had it that the emir was whisked away at about 0030 Hours on Sunday from his palace.

Senator Shehu Sani while commenting on the kidnap said the emir’s abduction include women and children were among the people stolen by the bandits.

According to him, “The Bandits operated freely for one hour in the town. In my Kaduna state nowadays is no more about who is safe but who is the next victim.”

“Nowadays, if you are heading towards Southern Kaduna from Kaduna city,and you see cattle blocking the road, the safest thing to do is to speedily reverse like Disney’s McQueen and drive fast like Lewis Hamilton.”

The police in Ekiti State have confirmed the release of four farmers abducted by gunmen last week.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Sunday Abutu, who made this known in statement to newsmen in Ado-Ekiti, said the abductees were released around 6 p.m. on Friday.

He confirmed that the farmers had been reunited with their families.

It was reported that the abductors demanded for N50million ransom, even though the Police authorities denied knowledge of the evil deal.

“This is to confirm that the four farmers kidnapped in Ikoosun-Ekiti on Mon­day 05/07/2021 have all regained their freedom from their abductors today being 09/07/2021 at about 1800hrs after a conscious and relentless efforts by the Police, the Amotekun and the local hunters.

“They have all been reunited with their family members while the security operatives are still on the trail of the kidnappers for possible arrest.”

Abutu had told journalists that the command deployed policemen in the surrounding bushes at Ikosun Ekiti up to the Kwara border for thorough combing of the sprawling forest region.
