Bandits again abduct nine women from Anka area in Zamfara

 

A large number of bandits, on Saturday night, attacked the Mareri area in Gusau, the capital of Zamfara State and kidnapped nine women from the same house.

According to eyewitnesses, the terrorists invaded the area at around midnight with sophisticated weapons and shot sporadically before taking the women away.

NEWSMEN   learnt that the kidnapped victims are from Anka in the Anka local government area of the state.

Sources revealed identified the kidnapped victims as Sanaratu Marafa, Halimatu Marafa, Rukayya Marafa, Sakina Yusuf Anka, Amina Yusuf Anka, Habsat Yusuf Anka, Fatima Sani Anka, Suwaiba Mareri, Aslam Jariri and one of their neighbours.

Recall that the Mareri area in Zamfara has continued to face security challenges for years now, forcing most residents to flee their homes to safety.

According to some of the residents, attacks by the bandits in the area have become worrisome. They called on security agencies and the state government to take action to safeguard their lives and properties.

“The area is a bandits’ colony due to constant attacks almost on a daily basis.
