Ban on motorcycles, other containment measures still in place – Kaduna Govt.

Kaduna State Government has said that the ban on use of motorcycles for both commercial and personal purposes still remains in place in the state until further notice.

Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Mr Samuel Aruwan, announced this in a statement issued on Tuesday in Kaduna.

“Kaduna State Government wishes to inform citizens that the ban on use of motorcycles (popularly known as Okada) for commercial or personal purpose remains in place until further notice,” he said.

Aruwan listed other containment measures, which also remained fully in place, as: ban on wielding dangerous weapons, restriction on the movement of tricycles from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. in Birnin Gwari, Giwa, Igabi, Chikun, Kachia, Kagarko and Kajuru LGAs.

“The state government continues to empathise with citizens over difficulties which these measures may engender and implores all residents to comply fully with the measures in the wider interest of general security,” the Commissioner said.
