Badaru mourns Ahmed Abubakar, Daily Sun correspondent in Jigawa

Gov. Muhammad Badaru of Jigawa has condoled with the family of Malam Ahmed Abubakar and the entire journalists in the state over the death of The Sun Newspaper correspondent.

Reports state that Abubakar died in the early hours of Wednesday at Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital (AKTH), Kano, during a brief illness.

The late Abubakar, 55, who was also the Chairman of Correspondents’ Chapel of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) in the state, is survived by wife and five children.

The governor, in a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Public Relations, Alhaji Habibu Kila, in Dutse, described Ahmed as a promising and dedicated journalist.

He said the late Abubakar‘s contributions to the development of the state in the areas of enlightenment and education of the public through the medium he represented would forever be remembered.

“The governor commiserates with the family of the late Abubakar, journalists in the state and management of The Sun Newspaper for the great loss and prays Allah to grant him eternal rest,” the statement said.
